1. What the Three Eras would think of our Holidays

  1. Read/review this table of the neoclassical, the Romantic, and the Victorian worldviews.
  2. Write a three paragraph paper (roughly 500 words per paragraph)
  3. Using the table, select a worldview (a numbered row).
  4. Write how those three eras (Neoclassics, Romantics, and Victorians) would have viewed our modern day holidays according to the ideal from that numbered row:

    • Thanksgiving
    • Christmas
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 two more times
  • Example
  • If you choose row A, then write about how the Neoclassicals with their view of "Idealize how to make the experience perfect" would think of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Continue on with that row to discuss how the Romantics with their view of "Idealize the perfect love or experience last" would view those three holdiays, and then discuss how the Victorians with their view of "Idealize the perfect love or experience first" would think of thos e holidays

  2. Read/review this table of the Neoclassical, the Romantic, and the Victorian worldviews.
  3. Write a three paragraph paper (roughly 500 words per paragraph)
  4. Using the table, select a worldview (a numbered row).
  5. Write 250-500 words on how the Researchers of Cognitive rigidity would view that Neo-Classic ideal, the Romantic ideal, and the Victorian ideal.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 two more times
  • Example
  • If you choose row A, then write about how the Researchers think that Neoclassical ideal of "Idealize how to make the experience perfect" would influence cognition (would that ideal make thinking more or less rigid). Continue on with that row to discuss how the Researchers would think of the Romantic ideal of "Idealize the perfect love or experience last" (If that ideal would cuase more oor less rigid thinking), and then discuss how the Researchers would think of the Victorian "Idealize the perfect love or experience first" as influencing rigid thinking.
