Re-write Criteria
Purpose:
To allow people to learn from mistakes rather than to be penalized for them.
Name of assignment:_________________________________ Rewrite #:___________
Printout and complete this checklist for each re-write; if you cannot do this list, do NOT turn in a re-write.
- ______Original had no more than ten ebola. (Does not pertain to Mini-Research #1)
- ______Original had perfect formatting according to the Formatting assignment
- ______Original had no spelling errors of words that do not exist. (That is, the orginal has no words that a spell check would have caught)
- ______Re-write is submitted and stapled in this order:
- This Rewrite criteria form printed and filled out
- The new/rewritten paper
- The original graded paper
- ______Re-write has new submission date (change the paper's date to the date you turn in the re-write.)
- ______Re-write is ready to turn in exactly one week after original return date.
- ______You attempted to fix all errors, not just enough of them to obtain a better grade.
- ______You did not delete sentences; you tried to fix them. (You may re-write whole sentences, but don't delete them to avoid having to fix them.)
- ______You put the re-write # after the assignment name in the header (such as Mini-Research #2 Re-write #1 or Mini-Research #3 Re-write #2, etc)
Maximum of two re-writes per paper allowed. (See Schedule for the assignments that cannot be re-written)
- Re-writes have a lesser maximum possible score than papers.
- Re-write #1 is worth a maximum of 90% of original paper.
- Re-write #2 is worth a maximum of 80% of original paper.
