Description Paper
Assignment Name: Description
Purpose:
To describe a situation with plenty of adjectives and adverbs in order to have the readers feel fully
present in a tactile, virtual world that constitutes part or all of your topic.
- Description is NOT a list of what is seen visually.
- Descriptions should be like life, and though life is visually rich, we have many other senses
during an experience.
The word "sensual" means "senses" and any good experience is a deep, rich immersion
into all senses, not just one.
- The SIX senses (Caution: show us, don't tell us).
| Sense | Don't tell us... | | Let us experience (show us) the sense |
| Hearing | "I heard crows in the trees..." | | "The crows cackled loudly in the trees" |
| Touch | "I felt the wind on my skin..." | | "The wind brushed against me..." |
| Smell | "I could smell the Pine trees..." | | "The scent of pine filled the air..." |
| Taste | "I tasted strawberries..." | | "The strawberries were slightly tart." |
| Kinesthesia | "I could feel my muscles aching..." | | "My calf muscles burned in pain as we walked" |
- Write one entry 150 to 250 words long.
- Use 5% links (thus 150 words has at least 8 links, 200 words has 10 links, 250 words has 13 links)
- No encyclopedia or dictionary links
- No image links
- Links must be meaningful connections to meaningful webpages
- Embed three pertinent images
- Warning: hotlinking to images may result in them not appearing in your blog
